Spending Limits

Cap Sidekick spend with named, workspace-scoped Rules — warn or block, on a daily, weekly, or monthly period.

Spending limits live in Rules#

There is no separate Budgets screen. Spending caps are configured at Settings → Rules, alongside the rest of Sidekick's autonomy policy — what it can do without asking, and where the spend rails sit.

Creating a limit#

  1. Go to Settings → Rules
  2. Click + Add limit
  3. Name it, choose a Period (daily, weekly, or monthly), and set the Limit (USD)
  4. Choose what happens when exceeded: Warn (allow conversations to continue) or Block (pause conversations until the period resets)

Watching spend#

Each limit shows a live gauge — current spend against the limit, with a marker at 75% and a badge that turns to warning color there and to destructive color once the limit is reached. A blocking limit at 100% shows "Blocked — limit reached"; a warning limit shows "Warning — limit reached" and keeps allowing conversations.

Managing limits#

Limits can be deleted at any time from the same Rules card. There is no separate per-member budget — every limit is workspace-scoped and applies to all of Sidekick's spend in that period.
