Installation & Setup

Create a standard workspace for real governed work. Managed inference requires available credit; starter credit, when offered, is a one-time grant.

Create your account#

  1. Visit lumenflow.cloud and click Start free
  2. Sign up with your email or Google account
  3. Verify your email address

Account creation is available when sign-ups are open. If the sign-up page says they are temporarily closed, new accounts cannot be created yet; existing users can still sign in.

Create a workspace#

Workspaces are isolated environments for teams or projects. Each workspace has its own:

  • Sidekick conversations
  • Approval rules
  • API keys and connections
  • Usage metering

The first ordinary sign-in provisions a standard workspace when you do not already belong to one. To create another, click New Workspace in the dashboard and give it a name.

A standard workspace persists real work under your policies. The playground and demo workspaces use sample data and simulated connector actions; choose a standard workspace to evaluate actual execution.

Start with managed inference#

Managed inference lets you use Sidekick without a provider API key when it is available and your workspace has sufficient credit. When starter credit is offered, your newly created standard workspace receives a one-time inference grant, visible in its credit history. It is not an unlimited allowance or a recurring monthly grant, and it does not fund compute jobs. Starter funding can be disabled; an existing workspace does not receive another grant when you sign in again.

  1. Open your standard workspace and launch Sidekick
  2. Check that inference is available and funded
  3. Ask Sidekick to create a small task, then reopen the saved result
  4. Review any approval required by your workspace policy before execution
  5. Open the associated job activity or Observe to inspect available evidence

Email and other external actions require your own working connections. When credit or a required connection is unavailable, complete that setup before trying the action.

Optional: bring your own model key#

If you need a specific provider, model, or enterprise agreement, you can connect a bring your own model key in workspace settings.

  1. Go to Settings → Model Configuration
  2. Select a provider and model
  3. Paste your API key
  4. Save the configuration for the workspace
Success

Your API key is encrypted and stored securely. LumenFlow never sends your key to any service other than the provider you selected.

Next step#

With your workspace configured, you're ready to run your first workflow.
