Billing Overview

How LumenFlow billing works — plan tiers, token metering, and payment methods.

Billing model#

LumenFlow uses a hybrid billing model:

  1. Plan fee — the monthly price of your plan, see Plans & Pricing
  2. Managed inference usage — paid from your workspace's inference wallet and metered per call (see Your inference wallet)
  3. BYOK provider usage — billed by your chosen model provider when applicable
  4. Governed execution (BYOC) — an included monthly allowance of execution time, metered overage beyond it on paid plans, for Connected Compute work you run on your own hardware. This allowance is for compute time, not AI usage. Work run on LumenFlow-managed compute is billed separately under the managed-compute credit model, not this item.

You pay LumenFlow for the platform, any managed inference you use, and governed execution time on your own hardware. If you connect a bring your own model key, that provider bills the model usage directly.

How metering works#

Every interaction with Sidekick consumes tokens:

ComponentTokens
System prompt~500 (fixed overhead)
Your messageVaries by length
Conversation historyGrows with conversation
Tool definitions~200 per connected tool
ResponseVaries by complexity

Token usage is tracked per action and displayed in Observe → Analytics.

Payment methods#

  • Credit card — Visa, Mastercard, Amex
  • Invoice — Available for Enterprise arrangements

Billing cycle#

  • Plan fees are charged on the 1st of each month
  • Token usage is metered in real-time
  • Invoices are available in Settings → Billing → Invoices
Info

Free plan users don't need a payment method. You'll be prompted to add one when upgrading or topping up prepaid inference credit. Managed inference has no included allowance: it is paid from your prepaid inference credit.

Ask Sidekick directly#

You don't have to open this page to check where things stand. Ask Sidekick things like "what's our current plan" or "what's our inference credit balance" in chat, and it answers with your workspace's real numbers — plan tier, subscription status, and your prepaid inference credit balance.
